In Primary 2, the class topic is “Splish Splash Splosh” and the children have been learning to solve problems using the “make a list” strategy, which helps them to organise their ideas and plan their thinking.
They talked about different types of boats and discussed whether they have ever been on one. The children then prepared for a homework task where they had to build a boat using junk materials. They made lists of possible materials they could use to help them plan their designs.
Today, the children tested their boats to see if they floated or sank. They enjoyed finding out which designs worked well.
