World Mental Health Assembly

9th Oct 2025
We're so proud to share that Miss Heggarty led an important assembly today for World Mental Health Day 2025! The day is celebrated every year on 10th October.

The core message was the importance of talking about our feelings to look after our minds. We used the idea that our mental health can be like a balloon. When we keep worries, stress, and upsetting feelings inside, it's like adding air, and the balloon might POP!. We learned that when we talk to someone, it's like letting some of the air out—which helps us feel lighter and start to feel calm again. We know that talking is a sign of strength, not weakness.

The assembly also focused on the year's theme: Mental Health During Catastrophes and Emergencies. We discussed "tricky times," which can be big events like a storm or something smaller, such as moving house or feeling left out. The message is clear: everyone deserves support, no matter what's happening.

We believe everyone deserves good mental health, and it is so important to make sure everyone, everywhere, can get help when they need it. That's why we encourage pupil voice in school, making sure every student knows there are always helpers around—like family, teachers, and friends.

Remember: taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body!
